As always, Valentino displayed incredible artistry and clever juxtaposition using earthy tones and dusty pastels.
I have interpreted this as the association between land and sea, and essentially, nature on a whole. With deep blues being reminiscent of oceanic elements and contrasting lighter colour palettes possibly reflecting beautiful ocean coral, the mystical theme was undeniably compelling.
Angelic broderie anglaise white dresses with exceptional laser-cut detailing to give the impression of delicate lace, was charming and a tasteful contrast to those dark folkloric prints also presented. Baroque sea creature embellishments and intricate beading on sheer, transparent fabrics romanticized the collection bringing grace and effortless glamour.
The enchanting floor-length gowns in the final lineup, without a doubt stole the show and captured the genuine allurement of Valentino… I would describe the collection as gypsy-soul meets mermaid-chic. Heavenly!
