London Love

imageOne of my Christmas presents from Gary was a weekend in London including a night at the ballet. London is one of my favourite cities to visit, inspiration is looming everywhere! We stayed at the Mayfair which was really lovely and I can’t wait to go back. (Still dreaming of my Mayfair breakfast!)

The ballet we went to see was Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty at Sadler’s Wells theatre, I absolutely loved it! The ever-graceful princess Aurora herself – performed by Ashley Shaw was technically fabulous, and the performance was executed to perfection.

Her lines and turnout were utterly dreamy, and I’m now in love with Matthew Bourne’s dramatic and glamorous take on the story.

There wasn’t a single pointe shoe in sight which at first, I was rather disappointed by, but I still felt that classical touch was weaved through to a certain extent. Even though this lacked that traditional grandeur and characterisation, Bourne’s reinvention was entirely refreshing, and gripping from start to finish. I loved every second and was totally captivated throughout. One of my favourite presents ever!⭐️

Food at Novikov was SO good. The baby pork belly, sweet and sour prawns and duck fried rice was amazing. Don’t you just hate it when you can’t finish your food, but you later really regret not trying to stuff more in, when you’ve became hungry again? Always. Sushi was indeed delightful also. My favourite was the seared salmon avocado!

We also had spicy prawn and Thai chicken steamed dimΒ sum, but the Thai chicken was just not to my taste it was far too lemony.πŸ‹ onto my favourite part of dinner… Desert. Nutella cheesecake with cherry sorbet – s p l e n d i d.πŸ’

I loved wandering around the streets of London; you come across so many pretty and interesting things. Berkeley Square was my fave – Oscar de la Renta, Stella McCartney, Dior, Chanel and Temperley London to name a few had me in a state of awe. Everywhere I looked I fell in love! Wish I could have it all.πŸ’˜

Pretty pastels and beautiful brights where in full bloom at Liberty London’s heavenly flower entrance. I couldn’t take my eyes away – so pretty! 🌸Flower-power for days.🌸

I dedicated some time to glasses shopping as I am in desperate need for some new frames and came across Moscott – now one of my favourite eyewear brands! They had so many unique frames and colours, my favourite shade was honey and olive green.

We then went to the very eclectic Bob Bob Riccard restaurant – the ‘press for champagne’ button is so cute.🍾  The crab salad with chili avocado mayonnaise and beef onglet was to die for. I can’t help but regret the fact I didn’t get the BBR signature chocolate glory desert. Once again, I let the starter and main defeat me.

Looking forward to my next trip to London already!πŸ‘
