Candy Stripes and Bows

image.jpegA boatneck gathered neckline, pink and white stripes, puffy sleeves with bow fastenings… My idea of the perfect summer dress. I always like to have fun with my accessories and create depth in my outfits, if it’s not adding colour then it’s got to add texture, pattern or just be a little different through shape or intricacy.

Accessories really do compliment your whole look; I don’t know what I would do without my collection of neckties, mini bags and statement earrings!

Candy stripe blue’s seemed to be everywhere you turn this summer, so of course I was more than pleased to see candy-stripe pink. Not only is pink one of my favourite colours (duh!), I knew those pink suede bow mules I had recently bought would go so well. So happy.

I styled this dress together with my satin striped and leopard print neck scarf, suede bow mules, red bug embellished mini bag, simple stud earrings and black cat-eye sunglasses. I also opted for a red lip to tie in with my choice of bag.

I added this neck scarf to create a little contrast to my striped dress – never be afraid to try wearing contrasting patterns together! Neck scarves are my go-to, they’re so versatile. They also look cute tied around the handle of your bag and still does the job off making your outfit look less flat.

As there was quite a lot going on with my outfit, I wore my hair in a sleek bun; anything else would have probably been too much.

My highlight of this night was finding a pink horse carriage inPalma to perfectly match my outfit. Easily pleased. Pink hues all around!image.jpegDress – Zara
