I’ve wanted to try out Victor’s Hale for quite a while now as I’ve heard really good reviews, and as I’m sure you’ve already gathered, I love nothing more than eating out at new places so a late Valentine’s meal here was perfect!
The very elegant restaurant and bar is located on Ashley Road in the suburb of Hale, (so worth the fairly long car journey) offering contemporary international cuisine for casual fine dining. The creative menus offer everything from fresh seafood, raw sushi, a grill menu and an extensive cocktail list.
There’s a lively yet relaxed vibe, probably due to the busy bar being so close to the classy dining area (the restaurant is smaller than I imagined). The decor is so pretty, too – the chic use of violet wisteria and green vines draped from the high ceiling is a beautiful touch (LOVE a bit of greenery) especially against the off-white and grey hued colour scheme. The ideal dinner setting! We got the sweet pea guacamole, tortilla & sweet potato crisps, chorizo croquettes with padron pepper and sun blushed tomato, tempura tiger prawns with dashi stock and lime, the tiger prawn sushi rolls and I had the beef wellington for my main.
So many delicious flavours! Those chorizo croquettes were by far the best I’ve had (pictures don’t do justice). We also had the chocolate fondue sharing desert with praline éclairs, honeycomb, strawberries and churros – incredible. As for cocktails, the pornstar martini and strawberry mashtini didn’t disappoint.Already looking forward to another visit here as I’m now excited to try out much more on the A La Carte menu and of course the lovely brunch/ lunch menu (I have my eye on those blueberry pancakes, lobster roll and super food salad). Wouldn’t mind trying out one of those cold-pressed super juices, either!
