Very opposing collections to say the least, yet both possess quite an alluring attention to detail. Divine dresses, just maybe for two different types of cocktail parties. Equally loving that Rochas elegance and Rodarte magic nonetheless – pretty sparkle meets a whole lot more sparkle (and an abundance of texture).
Yes, more fringing to add to the mass of fringing that has twirled down numerous catwalks. The Rochas take on the ‘fringe’ came in gold sparkling three tiered fringes made out of strips of sequins, the same style but in black with an added v neckline and sleeves with fringed cuffs, and a black midi skirt with sequined fringed hem. Love that this modern skirt was styled with a rather modest off-white pussy-bow chiffon blouse – a lovely dose of charm and fun.
The sparkle didn’t stop there, each pointed shoe was embellished with a glistening signature R, along with this being presented on mini bags, belts and even stitched onto pretty knitwear. Those crystal cuffs were my favourite type of sparkle, though, especially that blush pink midi dress with ever so slightly ballooned sleeves touching upon those exquisite cuffs. Such a lady-like collection.
Definitely the more bold collection, the wonderful Rodarte yet again produced an array of interesting craftsmanship coming in the form of super delicate knitwear, fine lace layered atop of holographic sequins, and dramatic tiered frilled gloves with colourful jewelled statement rings layered on top as they obviously weren’t enough.
I’m always living for Rodarte’s enchanting hair accessories and their fairly unusual and contemporary placement – those jewelled vintage feel hair barrettes give me life! Loving those standout drop earrings and multi-jeweled crown-like headband, too. So many colourful accessories emblazoned with beautiful gemstones, I’m so envisioning them being purposely scattered back into an intricately carved treasure chest, right?! They definitely added that magical ‘fairytale’ vibe to the collection.
Out of a few, my absolute faves has to be that sunset hued finely knitted floor length dress with matching thin scarf and pink frilled glove, in addition to that sensational floor length blush gown adorned with cobweb like spiralled pearl embellishment layered on top. LOVE everything about those looks! Kinda need one of those oversized leather jackets emblazoned with gold and silver studs, too.Even though I totally hated the shoe choice, this collection was definitely one of my faves and Rodarte’s ethereal creativity is nothing other than sincerely captivating!
