Velvet and Flares

IMG_7044What better way for autumnal shades to creep back in other than in the form of paisley velvet and flares?! When putting a last-minute outfit together, 9/10 I’ll find a blazer to put on – they’re just so versatile.

This is my favourite blazer I’ve ever bought (after totally forgetting I had it); I’m obsessed with the rich colours and slight metallic sheen. I also love nothing more than a bit of luxe texture combined with statement print. I bought this blazer just less than a year ago from Zara so it’s not available anymore, but there’s a divineΒ Mango wine velvet blazer (here) and Self-Portrait blue velvet blazer (here).

I teamed this with a pair of burgundy flares (here), to tie with the pops of purple/ red tones throughout the blazer (does anybody else hate how annoyingly big Zara fittings are?). I obviously accessorised with a yellow striped neck scarf (here) for a touch of contrast in pattern, and to brighten the deep palette a little. I kind of have a thing for contrasting stripes with florals!

I finished the look with a geometric bag with metal handle (here) (preferred as a clutch as it looked a tad more polished), that again added texture, and I guess a dose of fun through its fairly unusual shape. Oh, and a few of my silver rings and moon and star necklace, too (similar here), (here) and (here).IMG_7184IMG_7048IMG_7193

Pop back soon,
